Après quatre ans d’absence pendant lesquels il est entre autres devenu père, l’auteur-compositeur et chanteur Jonas Tomalty est de retour avec Closer, premier extrait de son nouvel album qui paraitra cet automne via le label montréalais Disques Artic (Roxane Bruneau) et en distribution mondiale chez The Orchard/Sony.

« En ces temps de distanciation sociale, plus que jamais, nous sommes conscients de l’importance de la connexion, de l’interaction et du toucher humain. Les paroles de la chanson font références aux luttes amoureuses, aux cœurs désorientés et au besoin d’être ensemble…mais ne vous en approchez pas! » explique Jonas.

Auparavant connu des fans simplement comme « Jonas » et captivant chanteur de « The Massive Attraction » depuis plusieurs années, Jonas Tomalty se renouvelle avec Closer en présentant un son plus pop/soul qui met en valeur non seulement sa voix unique mais également son talent de mélodiste hors-pair. En plus d’avoir pu compter sur le réalisateur Glen Robinson (Keith Richards), Jonas s’est également entouré de la crème des musiciens dont l’exceptionnel guitariste montréalais Jeff Smallwood et le batteur américain Zak St-John (Stevie Wonder, The B-52’s, Bruce Kulick).

« In these days of social distancing, now more than ever, we are made aware of the importance of connection. Of interaction. Of human touch. The words in this song visit the struggle of love, the bewildered heart and the need to be together…but don’t get any closer » explains Tomalty when asked about the song.
